I attended a CPC course on Wednesday 14th July at Pembrokeshire County Council Thornton Depot.
I just wanted to say how excellent your training provider James was. I’ve been on several courses like this in the past (including this particular module a few years ago), but this was the first one that I attended with James. I have to say that these training days, although necessary, can be a bit of a drag (no offence) but I found this last one was really interesting, entertaining and most importantly very useful as a driver.
I’m sure it must be very difficult to reach a balance of providing information while keeping things informal enough not to feel like we’re back at school but James got the balance right. Spot on!
Please pass my comments on to James and his manager(s) and hopefully I might get another opportunity to be another training session sometime in the future.

I passed my Class C practical test this morning in Carmarthen with just 5 minors. I just want to thank Gary and Joe (took us for test this morning) down at Carmarthen, for the great training. I’ve found COTS to be a great company and getting me through so quickly.
Myself and Gareth had a good laugh with Gary and Joe whilst we were training and it made it a lot easier. Given before last Wednesday I’ve never driven a lorry before it was a boost to have 2 good trainers.
I’m doing my Part 4 CPC with yourselves on 1st June down at Swansea.
I’m going to be driving Class C for a few months then will be looking to do Class C+E with yourselves.

Having just completed my 3 weeks of resettlement training with you, I felt compelled to put pen to paper and thank you and your team. It is important for military personnel to get really good resettlement training and Commercial Operator Training Solutions, without doubt provide it.
I came on the course with slight trepidation, this is someone who has been in the Army for the best part of 39 years and being possibly blind to what I was letting myself in for. My concerns were quickly allayed with the quality instruction given and perhaps most importantly for me, the interaction with the other students on all of the courses.
I have mentioned the instruction and I can only say that Dave (CPC and ADR), Paul (Cat C+E Refresher) and Don (Counterbalance FLT and Hiab), pitched the training at exactly the right level and I had a really great experience. I’m sending you this email as I’ve been really impressed with the quality of service provided by your company. Only 2 days after booking, I went on your RTITB Counterbalance FLT refresher course and the training exceeded my expectations.
Commercial Operator Training Solutions delivered a sensibly paced, no nonsense learning programme where Health & Safety legislation and operational use were clearly explained. In addition, useful methods were demonstrated to make forklift operation easier and ways to overcome some workplace specific hazards were suggested and discussed from the instructor’s own work experience.
The instructor James, was friendly and knowledgeable. I was nervous as I’d not driven a lift truck recently but he was able to bring out the best in me through encouragement and precise direction.
If all this wasn’t enough, the COTS dedicated training environment is easily accessible on the outskirts of Swansea, complete with parking spaces and next to a restaurant and a Gregg’s. I mustn’t forget the tea & coffee facilities – a big thanks to James for getting the milk!

Firstly may I thank you for all your support in relation to my recent training with your company, I had a fantastic time and achieved all the necessary skills required. I have taken the time to provide you personally with feedback about your team members that I met during my time with COTS;
CPC course – first 3 days - Dave Studd excellent instruction extremely knowledgeable and supportive during the 3 days
CPC Course – last 2 days – Richie Cousins again excellent instructor, knowledgeable and supportive and a good laugh.
Both instructors very professional but with very different learning/delivery styles which made for a very dynamic, interesting and enjoyable 5 days.
C+E 4 Days – Steve Rump – What a really nice guy with a great wealth of knowledge and experience, with a fantastic learner/student understanding of ability and coaching skills. Extremely professional polite and articulate delivering a very professional, relaxed and enjoyable driving experience.
Admin team – very helpful and polite individuals, all of the above are a credit to your company.
Only draw back but not COTS fault was the cancellation of test day, but your team quickly responded and supplied a new date the following Tuesday, fantastic.
I will certainly recommend your company to all my friends, family and anyone I meet in my new career in the haulage business, please pass this on to your team. Thanks again for an excellent 2 weeks with COTS.

"Our truck centre Director, David Watkins, booked me onto 5 CPC sessions last week (25th Feb-1st Mar) at Skills House which was undertaken by trainer Don Evans and I wish to offer some feedback on the sessions.
My experience is nothing but a positive one, from the welcome letter, training and my CPC card already dispatched by the DVSA.
Your trainer, Don Evans, certainly stood out and made the sessions as fun and engaging as possible, he was very knowledgeable and any questions he couldn’t answer he would promptly find the answer.
He is most certainly a valuable asset to the company, I train first aid within the community and hold several teaching qualifications and it was a pleasure to have a professional like Don teach all 5 sessions.
Teaching a room of nearly 20 drivers is no easy task and he engaged and interacted with everyone-thank you for your services and knowledge.
