As well as novice, medium risk, and high risk confined space courses, COTS are proud to be an approved centre for the delivery of the Level 5 Award in Managing Work in Confined Spaces qualification (accredited by City & Guilds).
The Level 5 award is suitable for those who Manage work in confined Spaces. Candidates will have normally completed the relevant 6150 Medium Risk confined space entry qualification for the situations they manage and have managerial and safety awareness experience. Typical candidates will normally be an operational Manager involved in work in areas classified as confined spaces. Confined Space work areas can include areas such as:
Water treatment plant
Waste water treatment plant
Water distribution network
Sewerage network
Underground network
This course is designed for managers that are responsible for organising and planning work activities within a confined space. The manager may or may not supervise the actual job. This course focuses on planning, organizing and managing work safely in confined spaces including legislative roles and responsibilities, health and safety considerations and equipment requirements. Our delivery of this qualification is designed as a Level 5 Management Course and is predominantly classroom based with the Assessor attending the candidates’ workplace on 1 of the 5 days.
