M13 – Drivers’ Responsibilities, Disability & Equality Awareness
Who Should Attend
Drivers with “acquired rights” (sometimes known as “grandfather rights”) who passed their test before September 2008 (PSV).
Drivers who need to acquire 7 hours towards their 35 hours of periodic training.
To provide candidates with a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of a driver including health issues that are common to the professional driver. Candidates will also gain a knowledge of disability & equality awareness including legislation and how to deal with situations that could arise.
A proportion of hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises, supplemented with classroom based tutorials.
Driver CPC Approved
Yes – 7 Hours (course M13)
Cardiff, Swansea, Client Site.
Delegates attending this course must have a valid licence for the categories they drive & must present a driving licence when attending the course.
COTS are fully approved by JAUPT to deliver Driver CPC periodic training.
Drivers behaviour and attitude
Bus and coach accessibility and the public service vehicle accessibility regulations 2000
Compliance & monitoring by enforcement bodies e.g HSE, DVSA
Duties of staff & conductors
Mobility aids including wheel chairs & scooters
Other disabilities including the use of guide dogs
