Course Overview

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

• Understand the hazards and risks associated with pressure washer operation
• Recognise different types of pressure washers (electric, petrol/diesel, cold/hot water) and their applications
• Identify and explain the function of key machine components and controls
• Conduct pre-use checks and routine maintenance in line with manufacturer instructions
• Select appropriate nozzles, attachments, and pressure settings for various tasks
• Identify and correctly use PPE required for pressure washing activities
• Operate the equipment safely, maintaining control and awareness of surroundings
• Understand how to manage water run-off, overspray, and environmental concerns
• Recognise and respond to faults or unsafe conditions

Assessment Methods

This course is assessed through a combination of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical training. Learners are evaluated via a written theory quiz and a practical demonstration of pressure washer operation and safety procedures.

Additional Information

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical health, and capable of meeting the demands of hands-on training. An adequate level of English literacy is also required to fully engage with the course content and assessments.
