PASMA Towers for Managers
Course Overview
This PASMA-accredited course is designed for individuals who are responsible for overseeing teams that use mobile access towers. It is suitable for site managers, supervisors, H&S professionals, and responsible persons who must ensure that tower operations are properly planned, organised, and carried out by competent personnel. The course ensures that managers understand the legal and practical requirements for tower safety, inspection, and risk management.
Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes
- Understand the legislation, regulations, and guidance relating to mobile access towers
- Apply the PASMA Code of Practice and use manufacturer instruction manuals appropriately
- Identify and mitigate fall risks during tower use
- Carry out fault finding and identify unsafe practices
- Complete tower inspection records accurately
- Recognise common hazards and implement control measures
- Develop and review risk assessments and rescue plans
- Understand the behavioural competencies required for safe work at height
Assessment Methods
Assessment is delivered through a closed-book theory test and practical scenarios. Delegates must achieve a minimum pass mark of 80% in both areas to successfully complete the course.
Additional Information
No formal qualifications are required, but delegates should ideally have a good working knowledge of the Work at Height Regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can also be offered as an in-house COTS Certification.
