PASMA Low Level Access

Course Overview

This PASMA-certified course is aimed at individuals who work with prefabricated low level access units not exceeding a platform height of 2.5 metres. It is suitable for operatives across a range of sectors including facilities maintenance, retail, warehousing, and light construction. The course ensures delegates understand how to assemble, dismantle, and relocate low level platforms safely and competently, helping to reduce the risk of falls and other workplace accidents.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

• Understand relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance (including the PASMA Code of Practice and BS 8620)
• Learn the correct procedures for assembling, altering, and dismantling low level access units
• Apply appropriate fall protection measures during use
• Identify and inspect hazards associated with low level work at height
• Maintain and complete Tower Inspection Records accurately
• Perform visual inspections of assembled units and ensure structural integrity

Assessment Methods

Assessment consists of a closed-book theory test and a practical assessment. Delegates must achieve a minimum score of 80% in both components to pass and receive certification.

Additional Information

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of training. No formal qualifications are required, though a basic understanding of working at height is beneficial. This course can also be offered as an in-house COTS Certification.

PPE Requirements

Delegates must bring suitable head, footwear, eye, and glove protection. A hard hat with a chin strap is recommended for the practical session.
