Course Overview

The NPORS Mobile Scaffold Towers (N706) course provides essential training for those working at height using mobile tower scaffolds. Designed for operatives across various sectors including construction and facilities management, this course ensures learners understand safety, proper assembly, and use of mobile towers. Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped to safely erect, dismantle, and inspect mobile towers, preparing them for site-based responsibilities such as maintenance, installation, or inspection work.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

• Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities
• Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular mobile scaffold to be used
• Be able to locate and identify the major components of the mobile scaffolding and explain their functions
• Conduct all safety checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
• Select suitable type of mobile scaffolding, relative to the work being undertaken
• Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for mobile scaffold
• Erect, dismantle, relocate mobile scaffolding safely and efficiently
• Carry out end of work inspections
• Environmental considerations
• Storage of mobile scaffold

Assessment Methods

This course is assessed through a combination of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical training. Learners are evaluated via a written theory quiz and a practical skills assessment.

Additional Information

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical health, and capable of meeting the demands of practical training. An adequate level of English literacy is also required to fully engage with the course content and assessments. This course can also be offered as an in-house COTS Certification.
