NPORS Asbestos Awareness (N031)

Course Overview

This Asbestos Awareness course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge required to identify asbestos hazards and apply safe working practices. It is suitable for workers who may encounter asbestos in their work environments, including tradespeople, facilities managers, and safety personnel.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

• Have a basic understanding of the industry and the dangers of working in the industry
• Have a basic understanding of the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations
• Gain an overview of Health and Safety Requirements
• Properties of asbestos
• Identify risks involved and how to avoid them
• Discuss the control measures and emergency procedures
• Types of asbestos and its uses
• The health risks and related diseases
• P.P.E and R.P.E

Assessment Methods

This course is assessed through a combination of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical training. Learners are evaluated via a written theory quiz and a practical skills assessment.

Additional Information

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical health, and capable of meeting the demands of practical training. An adequate level of English literacy is also required to fully engage with the course content and assessments. This course can also be offered as an in-house COTS Certification.
