• Carry out basic end-of-shift checks and store equipment in line with site requirements.

Assessment and certification

This NPORS Abrasive Wheels with Practical Cutting/Grinding course is assessed through a combination of theory and practical elements. Delegates complete a short written theory quiz to check their understanding of the key principles, followed by a practical skills assessment using abrasive wheel equipment under the guidance of an instructor.

Both parts of the assessment must be completed to the required standard in order to successfully pass the course and receive an NPORS certification in Abrasive Wheels with Practical Cutting/Grinding (N301). The NPORS qualification is currently valid for three years, after which further training and assessment will be required to renew it.

Entry requirements and additional information

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical health and capable of meeting the demands of practical training, including handling tools and working in a typical workshop or site environment. An adequate level of spoken and written English is required so that delegates can follow the course content, safety instructions and assessments.
