Driver CPC

Course Overview

Driver CPC training is a legal requirement for professional lorry, bus, and coach drivers, ensuring they complete 35 hours of approved training every 5 years to maintain their qualification. The training covers essential topics such as road safety, legal responsibilities, and fuel-efficient driving.

Our Modules

M1 – Drivers’ Hours

Covers drivers’ hours regulations, the Working Time Directive, UK domestic rules, and exemptions. Includes tachograph training using videos and simulators, plus a summary quiz. Suitable for LGV & PCV drivers.

M2 – Traffic Law


Updates drivers on key traffic laws, including licensing, enforcement, medical conditions, and recent Highway Code changes. Also covers vehicle weights, dimensions, and daily checks. Suitable for LGV & PCV drivers.

M3 – Health & Safety and Safe Loading


Focuses on workplace health and safety laws, PPE, manual handling, and load securing. Covers LOLER, PUWER, COSHH, and RIDDOR regulations. LGV drivers only.

M4 – First Aid


Provides an overview of emergency first aid, including CPR, wound dressing, and key health and safety laws like RIDDOR. Combines theory and practical elements. Suitable for LGV & PCV.

M10 – Vulnerable Road Users

Explores different types of vulnerable road users, accident stats, road habits, and defensive driving. Includes new Highway Code updates and right-of-way rules. Suitable for LGV & PCV.

M13 – Driver and Operator Roles & Responsibilities

Covers the responsibilities of drivers and operators, including health, behaviour, eco-driving, daily duties, and equality and disability awareness. Suitable for LGV & PCV.

Additional Information

We run a week of Driver CPC courses monthly at our training centre in Llandarcy (Monday M1, Tuesday M2, Wednesday M4, Thursday M10, Friday M13). Any of our Driver CPC courses can also be run at client premises for their convenience.

Courses start strictly at the specified time; we kindly ask candidates to arrive at least 15 minutes before to complete the pre-course registration. Failure to arrive on time could result in candidates being turned away from the course.
