Our history

Founded in 2009 by Managing Director Jason Mowforth, COTS was initially established to offer training that complied with the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) Regulations. We also provided compliance advice on Operator Licensing and tachograph analysis in South Wales. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to be recognised as one of the region’s premier providers of training in Transport & Logistics, Plant & Construction, Industrial, Health & Safety, and Confined Spaces.

Our team

Our team consists of 27 experienced staff members, each specializing in either administration or the operational side of Transport & Logistics, Plant & Construction, and Industrial Training. We are dedicated to providing custom training solutions tailored to client needs.

At COTS Training, we take great pride in delivering accredited training that meets the highest industry standards. Accreditation ensures our courses are properly regulated, consistently assessed, and nationally recognised – giving our learners the confidence that they’re receiving the very best. We are approved by leading accrediting bodies including CILT, City & Guilds, ALLMI, Highfield, IPAF, JAUPT, NPORS, RTITB, PASMA, and SQA.

Our training spans a wide range of sectors including Transport & Logistics, Plant & Construction, Industrial, Health & Safety, and Confined Spaces. As industries evolve, so do we – we’re continually expanding and diversifying our course offering to meet the changing needs of our customers, helping them stay compliant, safe, and skilled for long-term success and growth.

Where it began

COTS Training was established in 2009 at our first premises in Fforestfach, Swansea, with the aim of supporting the growing needs of the logistics and industrial sectors in South Wales.

H02

Promising Growth

In 2014, COTS Training acquired the Skills House training centre on Bruce Road, Fforestfach—establishing it as our head office and main location for classroom-based training courses.

The Big Move

Our move to the Llandarcy training centre brought everything under one roof—combining practical training, classroom learning, and our head office to better serve learners and streamline operations.

H04

Acquiring Railside

In 2023, we developed our Railside training centre in Briton Ferry—purpose-built to expand our Plant and Construction training offering with dedicated space for hands-on, industry-focused learning.
